Born 1971, made art.
Artist, sculptor, and ceramicist, Lincoln Mayne is fascinated with how we communicate through art and design. Through awareness of materials explored over a 25-year career, such as ceramics, wood, and ready-made objects, and Inspired by Dada’s core tenets—the rejection of logic and the embrace of the absurd, Mayne choreographs a dance between the boorish and the whimsical to poetically communicate something new, making visible how simple actions spur profound shifts in otherwise common experiences
Born in 1971 in Sydney, Australia, he currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Mayne studied fine arts at Claremont School of Arts in Perth, Western Australia, graduating with a sculpture major in 1996. He has been a wandering artist of both medium and geography for the past 25 years, working in Australia, the UK, and the United States.
